Trident’s Disaster Recovery & Backup Service (DRBS) Officially Launched

Trident is making available its Disaster Recovery Backup Service (DRBS) to all clients following a series of successful implementations over the past 18 months.

After the real-world evaluations of the service achieved impressive results, DRBS is now available to any organisation keen to have a complete backup and disaster recovery solution removing the need for removable tapes, hard drives or other backup software.

Not to be confused with cloud backup, this fully managed backup and disaster recovery service is available via monthly subscription. DRBS is designed to help small to medium businesses restore critical data and server functions if they are lost through human error, theft or natural catastrophes such as fire or flood.  The service works by replicating data to both on-premise storage and servers at a secure, offsite data centre. This allows them to be typically restored within an hour, enabling clients to resume business in a much shorter period than the days or weeks that might be required otherwise.Request Full DRBS product PDF here

How DRBS Works

FIGURE 1 – DATA AND/OR SERVER FAILURE
Image backups of selected servers are made as frequently as every 15 minutes to an onsite storage device, enabling local data and server recovery at a moment’s notice.  In addition, a daily image is created and replicated to our data centre with a minimum 30-day retention period. This enables file and folder restorations, plus full recovery in the event of a disaster such as fire and theft, giving your staff swift access to data, come what may.

FIGURE 2 – SERVER OR SITE FAILURE
In case of complete server or site failure, our Extended Recovery Option gets to work providing fast recovery via local loan servers or remote access to servers hosted at our data centre.

FIGURE 3 – SITE FAILURE
In the worst scenario of complete site failure, our Extended Recovery Option allows your staff to remotely connect to your applications and data stored on loan servers at our data centre. This enables them to work from home or elsewhere while your site is unusable, protecting your business continuity, no matter what.
