An established Sussex manufacturing business engaged with Trident after our implementation plan highlighted the precise way to solve network issues, in order to dramatically improve performance, tighten security, and consequently enhance productivity.
A large Sussex manufacturer with 250 users had begun to suffer serious network issues as a result of their antiquated infrastructure. Critical issues were hindering production and affecting the competitive advantage that the company and their staff had worked hard over the years to build up.
When we began our engagement process we immediately identified a number of operating systems approaching end-of-support (Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003), which if not addressed would expose the company to major security incidents. The client also wanted to upgrade their line-of-business application which would mean specialised technical assistance.
Following our initial meeting between the client and our technical team, we established that the customer needed to simplify and consolidate infrastructure and migrate some services to the cloud.
We delivered a detailed and fully tailored proposal document that presented a good understanding of the company’s pain points and justified our solution at both a technical and commercial level. The client was delighted to have such a highly customised proposal and we were chosen to deliver the project.
The solution:
- New server hardware consolidating the existing physical servers into a single virtual solution
- A migration to Exchange Online for email services
- A new image based backup solution
- A disaster recovery solution
- New high availability firewall configuration at each site
The network solution dramatically improved network performance, enabling the company to move forward, confident that the solution would encompass all future growth. The customer was delighted with the result and all the recommendations made. A support agreement was also taken out offering quarterly maintenance visits, proactive monitoring of the network and strategy meetings every six months. We are now in the process of working with the client to upgrade their line of business application.
