On Sunday 2nd September 2012, the Uckfield office of a Sussex accountancy firm went up in flames. The fire, which started outside the premises, swept through the company’s server room, destroying the server infrastructure that provisioned its Uckfield branch and second, Sussex office.
Luckily, the accountancy already had a Trident Disaster Recovery Backup System (DRBS) installed, which proved vital in minimising the impact of the fire. On hearing the news on Monday 3rd September, Trident sprang into action, organising replacements for the lost IT equipment and rapidly recovering backed-up data from offsite backup servers. The result? The customers IT systems were up and running normally again by late Tuesday 4th September, and with minimal loss of data.
